Garrett Park Nursery School is a parent – operated nursery school founded in 1953 in Garrett Park, MD. GPNS offers a high quality education for 2,3, and 4 -year old children and a pre-school extended day program. The primary goals of the school are to provide an environment that allows each child to grow and develop at his or her own pace and to encourage the children to interact positively with their peers. We believe parental participation in the school environment helps ease the transition from home to school for both the child and the parent. All benefit when children, parents and teachers know each other well and share in the learning experience.

We are located just west of Garrett Park Elementary School. Applications for the 2024-2025 school year will be accepted starting October 15th.  To receive priority status, applications for siblings of current students, siblings of alumni, children of alumni and residents of the town of Garrett Park must be submitted by January 27th of the school year prior to enrollment.  In February, class lists are compiled and all spaces are filled in the order stated in our admission policy which is enclosed with the application.  As vacancies occur, classes are filled from the waiting lists. Don't wait!
