Chicano Sol is a small family farm in every sense of the word.  We farm less than ten acres, and the work is primarily done by us, the family, Jarrah and Agustin Cernas and our children Austin-5, and Evin- 3. Jarrah's brother Javid and some good friends also help in the busy season.  Mamas babysit and grandpas drive trucks; at the end of the day, it always gets done.

We began farming in 2009, poultry, small scale, while we also worked away on another certified organic produce farm. In 2010, after Austin was born, we began farming our own land.  We operate 9 greenhouses 12 months of the year, and additionally farm 5 acres outside seasonally.  We have been certified organic from the beginning, and wouldn't want to farm any other way.  We sell to our local co op, local restaurants; operate 3 Farm stands, and attend one farm market. We also offer a small CSA share that runs 26 weeks of the year locally at the farm.  We truly value our work, and the fruits of our labor.  We strive to provide the best quality, freshest, certified organic produce all season long.
