The Bugle, our Town Newsletter, was started by two Garrett Park grade school age residents, Tom Guernsey and John Hall in 1953. John’s father Clyde suggested that they go around town and try to collect stories. He would pay them 5 cents per story, put the stories in newspaper form, then mimeograph them for distribution door to door, charging 5 cents per copy. Today, you can access the Bugle online at the Garrett Park Town website, or pick up a print copy in the Post Office Lobby, 10 months a year, at the beginning of the month.
